There is a group of concerned taxpayers who have organized a meeting to discuss the merits of the district’s Common Core program. I encourage you to attend, even if you have made up your mind that Common Core is a valid program, as there will likely be some information provided about which you are unaware.

Here are the details:

Newport-Mesa Unified School District Common Core Meeting for:
– Parents
– Grandparents
– Concerned citizens

Are you concerned that you’re children are not enjoying math anymore because it has changed?  Come and hear what other parents are saying and doing about the problems with Common Core.

It’s not fair that the NewportMesa School District is experimenting with a new, untested program on your children.  They won’t know for years if it works or not.  They say “Just trust us”.

Parents who are concerned are meeting to discuss what can be done to save our children.

When:            Saturday March 14th
Time:             10AM-11AM
Place:             Ruth Fant’s
213 Calabria Court, Costa Mesa, CA 92627
RSVP:            714-612-6864-Tom Pollitt

Please invite your friends

My own concerns with Common Core are about the assessments – the tests used to measure whether the program is working.

Thanks for reading.
